Housing Support Officer (Intense Support)

We now have an exciting and challenging opportunity available for a Housing Support Officer to join us to support a range of vulnerable households who are in crisis situations to sustain tenancies, improve life choices and live independently.

Many individuals could have complex and immediate physical and mental health issues and so support can will be achieved through practical assistance in cases of poor property conditions and hoarding, pending evictions and execution of warrants; building and maintaining effective relationships with both internal and external organisations in order to enhance the quality of life and well-being of the customer

Enthusiastic and dedicated, you will ensure that the customers are fully involved in all aspects of the support process building on their individual assets and strengths and identifying and reporting safeguarding issues.

Able to work cooperatively as part of a team to achieve measurable outcomes, candidates will have a commitment to working with vulnerable people and be capable of inspiring confidence and building rapport and engaging customers whilst tackling crisis situations. With experience of dealing with safeguarding issues and a good working knowledge of IT and Microsoft applications, you should have good communication skills and the ability to explain information in a simple manner and complete forms and reports where necessary.

Above all, candidates must have respect and understanding for customers living in poor property conditions. Due to the nature of the role, a full driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential.
