Decant Officer - Fixed term contract for 12 months

An opportunity has now arisen for a Decant Officer to join us to provide a bespoke service to tenants requiring rehousing as a result of closure of their sheltered scheme working in partnership with relevant agencies and other Stockport Homes services to deliver a great customer focused service.
Proactively assisting tenants with rehousing to suitable alternative accommodation either on a temporary or permanent basis whilst their scheme is being closed, you will act as the main point of contact for customers and proactively identify properties or types of properties, which may be suitable for tenants to move to on either a temporary or permanent basis.
Responsible for providing regular and timely budget, performance and monitoring information, you must liaise with all agencies involved with the relocation of tenants and ensure that tenants are settled in their new homes; continuing to liaise with them as appropriate.
Essentially, you will play a key role in the effective management of the closure of a sheltered housing scheme whilst supporting the team to effectively manage the full range of purpose-built accommodation for older people.
With excellent customer service skills through relevant work experience, candidates must have the ability to work with vulnerable people, providing excellent services and adapting to meet customer needs. You should have an extremely flexible approach to work ensuring availability at weekends and evenings and be capable of assisting with practical tasks associated with moving home e.g. Ordering goods and packing. Excellent customer service and budget management skills are essential alongside an understanding of the needs of the client group and compassion relating to the circumstances of the tenants.
