Governance Manager

We have an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled and self-motivated Governance Manager to join our Group. You will be able to shape a newly amalgamated service area and drive forward our governance, regulatory and compliance functions to ensure SHG meets its strategic objectives.

The Governance Manager oversees the delivery of a number of functions including governance, customer scrutiny, regulation, risk management, internal audit and information governance. You will manage a small team to deliver agreed priorities, seeking to make improvements and implement best practice. Ideally, candidates will have knowledge and experience of corporate governance work (preferably in a public sector or social housing organisation) and an understanding of regulatory requirements.

You will work with Boards members and key stakeholders to develop positive working relationships and being able to provide advice and guidance to enable others to be effective. It is imperative that you have a flexible approach to work (including attending evening meetings), can use your own initiative and embrace new ways of working. Being able to use a range of IT packages and work digitally is a must!
