Housing Options Development Officer

In 2019, Stockport Homes achieved three star ‘extraordinary’ Best Companies accreditation and were recognised as one of Britain’s best employers for the tenth consecutive year running by the Sunday Times newspaper. We are the third Best Not-For-Profit Organisation to work for in the Sunday Times Top 100 list for 2019 (Number one in the Best Companies Top 25 Housing Organisations to Work for) and have also achieved Platinum Investors in People status for our approach to people management and development.

We are a values driven organisation committed to achieving our mission of ‘One team, transforming lives’, but we’re also entrepreneurial, maximising the value of our money and resources.

We currently have an opportunity available for a Housing Options Development Officer to join us to lead on the development of an excellent, innovative housing options service.

Playing a key role in the continuing transformation of services to people who are homeless, or threatened with homelessness within Stockport, you will lead on the development of innovative homelessness prevention and relief services and support the development and delivery of the Council’s Homelessness Strategy; working with key managers in the directorate to develop policies and implement system and process change.

Ensuring systems and service delivery are compliant with legal obligations, you will collate and analyse performance information and statistical returns and coordinate partnership working on a local, and sub-regional basis. You will also represent Stockport Homes at a senior, decision making level at Borough and sub-regional levels; demonstrating confidence and a passion for tackling homelessness.

With the ability to interpret and become an expert on homelessness legislation, case law and guidance, candidates will have a track record of initiating and delivering service improvements and change and experience of influencing and working alongside and through others to achieve objectives and goals. Capable of collating and analysing data and producing reports to a very high standard, you will be skilled in communicating with people individually and through presentations and have the drive, tact and diplomacy to develop solutions with key partner agencies.

Closing Date: 25th August

Interviews: 3rd September
