Neighbourhood Housing Officer
In 2019, Stockport Homes achieved three star ‘extraordinary’ Best Companies accreditation and were recognised as one of Britain’s best employers for the tenth consecutive year running by the Sunday Times newspaper. We are the third Best Not-For-Profit Organisation to work for in the Sunday Times Top 100 list for 2019 (Number one in the Best Companies Top 25 Housing Organisations to Work for) and have also achieved Platinum Investors in People status for our approach to people management and development.
We are a values driven organisation committed to achieving our mission of ‘One team, transforming lives’, but we’re also entrepreneurial, maximising the value of our money and resources.
We are currently looking to recruit a Neighbourhood Housing Officer to join us on a full time basis.
As a first point of contact, you will provide a customer focused housing management service within a designated neighbourhood, which will meet the aims and objectives of Stockport Homes and achieve our mission to transform lives.
Our Neighbourhood Housing Officers must be confident in order to enforce tenancy conditions and challenge behaviours using various tools and powers at their disposal. This will require excellent organisational and problem solving skills, a high level of resilience and excellent interpersonal and communications skills to work with partners and colleagues to jointly tackle issues.
With excellent customer care skills and a commitment to making a difference to neighbourhoods you will manage, you must be capable of working positively and enthusiastically in sometimes challenging circumstances and have an interest in Housing law relating to the management of Social Housing. Specific experience gained within a housing role is not necessary.
With good problem solving skills and the ability to work both on your own initiative and as part of a team, you must be able to use a wide range of IT packages to manage tenancy details and case work and be willing to deal with different types of workloads and problems. Due to the nature of the role, a valid current driving licence and access to a car is essential.
For an informal discussion on the role please contact Rebecca Cullen on 07800 617722
Closing date for applications: 27th September
Assessments: 11th October
Interviews: 23rd October
