Youth Diversionary Officer - Foundations – 2 year fixed term contract

Foundations was set up as a charitable arm of The Stockport Homes Group and they are now looking to recruit a Youth Diversionary Officer to join them to provide support and activities to divert young people away from anti-social and negative behaviours, helping them to achieve their potential through collaborative working.

Using your own initiative, and with close collaboration with partners, you will plan and deliver high quality interactive support and activities for young people aged up to 25 years; working flexibly to ensure the views of young people shape delivery and meet needs, including those facing particular disadvantage. You must also develop positive relationships with young people and tenants, their families, and other stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes and attend regular partnership meetings to ensure information is continuously shared.

With practical experience and knowledge of the issues and barriers facing vulnerable young people, including understanding of the Youth Justice System, Children’s Act and Safeguarding, you will have sound risk assessment skills and safeguarding knowledge to deal sensitively and promptly with complex problems and issues raised to safeguard all concerned.

We are looking for an individual who radiates enthusiasm and drive for engaging with young people, can publicise and celebrate successes and implement any learning where required. The ability to drive is essential, as the role will work across multiple locations in Stockport.

We are the third Best Not-For-Profit Organisation to work for in the Sunday Times Top 100 list for 2019. (Number one in the Best Companies Top 25 Housing Organisations to Work for).

We are a values driven organisation committed to achieving our mission of ‘One team, transforming lives’, but we’re also entrepreneurial, maximising the value of our money and resources.
